MTA seabed measurements in a wave flume

The data shown below was measured using a 32 element MTA.  The operating frequency of the system was 5 MHz and the transducer spacing was 2 cm.

The test section was 50 meters in length and the width of the flume was 4 meters.  The median sediment diameter was 0.19 mm, the wave height was 1 meter, and the wave period was 6.5 seconds.
The array was mounted on a moving
carriage which travelled at a rate of 11 cm/sec.

The above plot shows the seabed location along the whole length of the test section.
The plots below are sections from the middle and end of the flume.  The transition from movable bed to fixed bed can be seen to the right of the bottom plot.

The data presented on this page was collected by Dr. Hanes, of the University of Florida, as part of a SISTEX99 experiment funded by the European Community and ONR (NICOP program).
